Stig Asmussen, a veteran industry designer who most recently served as creative director for God of War III, has joined Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment.

Co-founder Vince Zampella confirmed the move in an interview today with Polygon, saying the company is "super excited to have him" on the team. Asmussen will serve as game director at Respawn.

After 11 years, Asmussen left Sony Santa Monica in March. He worked on the God of War trilogy and was believed to be working on a brand new game that Sony reportedly canceled in the middle of development.

In addition to supporting Titanfall with new DLC, including the Marked for Death mode due out this month, Respawn is rumored to be working on Titanfall 2 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. This is notable because the original Titanfall only came to PC and Xbox consoles.
