May's top 3 must-play games

The biggest releases coming your way this month.

Blood and Truth

Take on the London criminal underworld and live out your action hero fantasies with precision gunplay, explosive action sequences and a healthy dose of gangland grit.

Rage 2

Become a wasteland superhero in a neon-spattered post-apocalyptic open world packed with over-the-top weapons, special abilities, and plenty of monsters and goons to unleash them on.

Team Sonic Racing

How do you make Sonic even faster? Put him and all his pals in karts, shower them with power-ups and raise the chequered flag on high-octane, team-based racing of course!

May's hidden gem

A Plague Tale: Innocence

Heart-wrenching, incredibly immersive and filled with intrigue, here’s why you shouldn’t miss this historical adventure on 14th May.

  1. It’s a gritty reimagining of the Middle Ages
The game takes place in a brutal yet grimly beautiful version of history, where rats swarm and spread a deadly plague across a land brought to heel by a brutal Inquisition.
  2. It’s a tale of family bonds, loyalty and moral choices
You play as Amica, a headstrong girl charged with looking after Hugo, her sick younger brother, and making tough moral choices as they’re pursued through an unforgiving world by The Inquisition’s henchmen.
  3. There’s a mix of stealth, puzzles, action and storytelling
The emotional story is deep and immersive, but not at the expense of gameplay; careful stealth, crafting and intense action and boss fights will keep your heart racing as you try to protect Amica and Hugo.

New to PS VR this month

Trover Saves the Universe

Here’s three reasons why this blast of galactic comedy-adventure weirdness is PS VR perfection – and it’s out on 30th May.

  1. It’s from the co-creator of Rick & Morty
Justin Roiland is the creative force behind Trover’s quest across the cosmos to defeat Glorkon – an insane alien who’s stolen your dogs and jammed them into his eyeholes. Yes, really.
  2. There’s platforming, puzzles and hilarious characters
You’ll meet bizarre, foul-mouthed alien beings, solve puzzles and wield a pink laser-sword in pursuit of Glorkon. And while you take care of the action, Trover provides the commentary.
  3. You can play it on PS VR or a regular PS4 setup
No PS VR? No problem. You and your DUALSHOCK 4 can experience the same weird, wise-cracking action alongside Trover. Possibly from a safer distance.
