Pretty sure Merkel doesn't represent an allied nation

Bit strange she was in the line with all the allied nations or is this the start of history being changed? wish the duke of York was there he would have probably sed something
-
Well, she should obviously be there for being one of Britain's allies today, but in the context of this tweet it was strange to see her so prominent in the video.
-
That’s what I was think surly out of respect you should be last to be greeted by the Queen not in the middle
-
Well, looking at that line she came after the USA and France, so she was last of Britains major allies today. But for the picture it would be more fitting if Macron was in the focus.

Merkel should have been the last to be greeted, along with any other of the then enemies present.
-
Are you stuck a little bit in the past sweetheart?
-
Thought it was the Allies celebration day. Not about being stuck in the past but true to the cause
-
Don’t you think the enemies from the past are the allies today? when you think they’re still enemies, then you are indeed stuck in the past

Merkel? Allied Nations?
-
Yes, Germany is an allied nation. As she stated she is grateful for the defeat of Nazis. This commemorates an event 75 yrs ago. It is significant that Germany is free and able to join this event.
-
But it did say, the allied nations that took part in D Day!
-
Well Nazi Germany was an important (defeated) part and the present day Germany absolutely should be there in recognition of the important event and a chance for them to recognise the people and events that liberated them.
-
I absolutely agree. I was only making the point about the initial statement, which said; each representing........etc & then you said. German is an Allied nation, which is correct now, but not in 1944 on D Day! Hope that clears that up!
