I still remember having a friend over back in the day when this episode aired on Kids' WB!, and he just could not help but comment on the size of Lorelei/Prima's breasts. Kind of hard not to notice, I'll admit.

WALL-E may as well have been a live-action movie since it implied that all the obese animated humans in the film were real people in the past, and the movie itself looked real enough to be another Star Wars. "Real" and "Animated" have never felt more blurred to me than this.

And some people still want to say that 2D animation "can't sell".

Well the first thing you need is the artistic passion and incentive to want to do it. Finding the amount of skill that you need to get it done is what really takes patience.

I've seen people use the excuse that because it's about video games, and there are cameos of video game characters, it "has to be 3D". What about caricaturizing video game characters in Disney's true style of animation (2D, not 3D)?

And then this movie's sequel ended up destroying whatever integrity WDAS had left for the art of 2D animation when it perverted their own characters into a CGI joke. Fuck Wreck-It Ralph, and R.I.P. Walt Disney Feature Animation... at least for now.

Not exactly. Disney's own standards for TV animation used to be very high in the 1990s. Now they're getting to be just as bad as Cartoon Network's.

This world we live in, I swear. I thought Who Framed Roger Rabbit already proved that over 30 years ago. Like, just after the year I was born.

The same year we got the original Hunchback, we also got the live-action 101 Dalmatians. It was one thing for Disney to re-imagine one animated classic that way, but now wanting to remake almost all of their classics when it isn't necessary is just going too far.

Definitely a coincidence, but when Mushu accidentally breaks the Great Stone Dragon in the movie, I can't help but think of what happened in the first episode of Disney's Gargoyles.

Had a good time seeing Mary Poppins Returns today. Love how Duncan Studio faithfully recreated the more sketchy look of Walt Disney's animation in the 1960s. More than that it was a surprisingly good follow-up to the original film.

Did you know that the release of Mary Poppins Returns today just happens to be on the same day as my birthday? Since I miss the 2D animation of Disney so much, I guess I should consider this my birthday gift.
