Mount Lebanon Governorate
Mount Lebanon Governorate (mohafazah, muhafazah, محافظة) is one of eight governorates of Lebanon.
Its stretches from the Mediteranean coast to the mountain and countains the major coastal cities of the country.
Its consists of six districts (kaza, قضاء), Aaley District, Baabda District, Chouf District, Jbeil (Byblos) District, Keserwan District and Matn District. City of Baabda hots its administrative center.
Before the country got its independence in 1943, Mount Lebanon was already a sovereign space.
During the municipal elections of 2004, Mount Lebanon counted 1 101 817 registered voters of which 672 212 voters. 1
