Home Credit

Home Credit Group is a leading multi-channel provider of consumer finance.

Founded in 1997, Home Credit Group focuses on responsible lending primarily to people with little or no credit history. The Group drives and broadens financial inclusion for those without access to banking services by providing a positive and safe borrowing experience – the first for many of its customers. In doing so, the Group promotes higher living standards and meets borrowers’ financial needs. Its services are simple, easy and fast. These features position the Group ahead of its competitors and makes it a leading provider of consumer finance.

Operations

The Group operates in highly attractive markets with significant barriers to entry, where its experience and knowledge sustainably puts it ahead of its competitors. The Group is currently active in the Czech Republic (since 1997), the Slovak Republic (since 1999), the Russian Federation (since 2002), Kazakhstan (since 2005), China (since 2007), India (since 2012), Indonesia (since 2013), the Philippines (since 2013), Vietnam (since 2014) and USA (since September 2015 in partnership with Sprint). In each country Home Credit is subject to oversight by the relevant financial services regulators.

The Group’s 125.4 thousand employees have so far served 116 million customers through its vast distribution network comprising 437,417 points of sale, loan offices, branches and post offices (figures as at 31 December 2018). More information on HCBV is available at www.homecredit.net.

Distribution Model

The Group specialises in multi-channel consumer finance lending, offering a variety of products. The backbone of its operations, however, is “in-store lending”. At the “points of sale” (or “POS”), spread across local retailers’ shops, the Group offers loans for purchases of durable goods and other types of consumer financing provided in local currencies. In countries where Home Credit Group holds banking licences, it also offers transactional banking for individuals and takes deposits, which are an important source for local funding. The Group’s product portfolio differs by country, as market dynamics and customer needs vary from market to market.

Ownership Structure

The majority shareholder (91.12% stake) of Home Credit B.V. is PPF Group N.V. A minority stake (8.88%) of Home Credit B.V. is held by EMMA OMEGA LTD, an investment holding company ultimately owned by Mr. Jiří Šmejc.
