Little Mix last night returned to a singing contest, but this time as guests as the former X Factor winners performed their smash hit Bounce Back in the live final of The Voice Kids UK.
Danny Jones’ finalist Sam Wilkinson would go on to be crowned winner of The Voice Kids 2019, but not before the group sang their latest track, with beats from Soul II Soul’s classic track Back To Life.
Little Mix were lucky to have been spared from a brief technical glitch on the ITV show earlier that night, which had stalled Gracie-Jayne’s final performance.
The band had revealed the happy news that they would be performing in the live show earlier this week, taking to Twitter to write: ‘We’re so excited to be performing at The Voice Kids final.’
‘The four finalists are all so unique and talented it’s impossible to say who might win.
‘We can’t wait to see their final performances and to cheer them all on.’
After their performance, viewers and fans took to social media to praise the girl group.
One viewer praised their outfits and choreography: ‘I’m in love with them. The outfits are so colourful [sic]. The choreography is a bomb. Their voice never tires, I would hear it for hours [sic].’
Another fan said their performance of Bounce Back is ‘by far their best performance for me of the single. Love it girls. They’re so incredible!’ and other fan called them the ‘Best Girl Group of This Generation!’
‘I was LIVING for that performance of #BounceBack on The Voice Kids! the aesthetic, the vocals, the dancing, everything on point,’ another viewer added, and for another viewer, the performance was a ‘mic drop moment.’?
The girls, in short, absolutely slayed.
In the explosive live final of the show, 13-year-old Sam Wilkinson was crowned winner of the singing contest.
The youngster stole the show with his original song Everything’s Alright, and a cover of Hey Jude with coach Danny Jones.
Speaking after the win Sam said: ‘Thanks, that’s so cool. I can’t believe it.’
Sam’s mentor Danny added: ‘Tonight was the hardest because they’re all worthy winners, the talent on this stage tonight has been unbelievable, but Sam really deserves it and he’s done amazing.’
