Presidential Candidate Andrew Yang visits the Lowcountry
Presidential Candidate Andrew Yang visited the Lowcountry today. Bringing his policy ideas with him. “If I am your nominee, I will defeat Donald Trump soundly in 2020 and that’s a promise,” said Andrew Yang.Yang took the time Thursday to listen to Lowcountry residents. He spoke about several things, but the number thing on his mind. His freedom dividend. Which promises a thousand dollars to every American. “The biggest misconception is that it’s about the money, when it’s really not about the money. It’s about ourselves, our families, our mental health, our stress levels, and what we want to do for work. When people think about a thousand bucks a month, all you have to do is go to any of the families I’m giving a thousand dollars a month to. And see what it means to them in real life, and all of the doubts fade away,” said Yang. His group of supporters called the #YangGang tend to travel well. They’re also a reason why the candidate has already qualified for the fall debate. He’s even grabbed the attention of the president. “Well it’s invigorating. We always knew we could get here because we’re solving the real problems that Americans can see around us every day. We’re having a different conversation about solutions, not sound bites. And people are tired of politics as usual. They want real change that they’re going to be able to experience day to day,” said Yang.Other items on the agenda included talks about immigration, gun control, health care, and protecting American jobs.
