In the 1970’s my father explained to me that what he saw during the war differs greatly to what is presented in history books. One of the major items he discussed was the intentional starvation of countless numbers of German soldiers by the American military. It is not cinematically cloaked under a veil of secrecy; the transition to an oligarchy where elections have no meaning has been openly gritty and venal.

I read Hoffman’s “Secret Societies” book a couple years ago. I agree with much of what he says and writes, but his idea that somehow those of us who are conspiracy-aware are being ritually “processed” by what we find out does not resonate with me. In the book, he says that it is counter-productive to look into conspiracies if one does not first arm oneself with knowledge of the language of symbolism through which we are subconsciously processed. (I can’t remember his exact words, but this is the idea.) Again, this does not resonate with me. I look at high-profile and outrageous events, like 9/11, and ask myself which parts of the official story seem reasonable and which do not. I also think about how the deceptions might work. All I am trying to do is to figure out the truth, or at least to make myself aware of plausible theories. I do not find myself starting to admire the masterminds behind the deceptions.

I originally reached the subject of conspiracy theory via the racial right. One immediate effect of realizing how many deceptions there have been was to increase my sense of caution about the racial right. I realized that most of the leadership of the racial right was compromised through connections with the deep state. This is like the sense of “futility” which Mr. Hoffman talks about, but isn’t it beneficial in this case? One does not want to blindly trust people who are likely to lead one into trouble.

In EWS, upon hearing his wife’s confession, Bill cannot let it go with ‘what the fuc*’. He keeps searching and searching, like he’s looking for the holy grail or something. But in the end, no amount of searching, aching, agonizing, or intellectualizing will solve the problem. In the, it is what it is and life goes on. So, ‘fuc*’ is just a vulgar way of saying ‘just live’. It may be banal, but there is no escape from the banality of life.
And in a way, it may have been a self-deprecating sentiment on the part of Kubrick who was a lifelong seeker of significance and meaning. And of course, his fans pored through his movies, studying frame by frame, for profundity… just like Bill Harford seeks and seeks the truth. But there isn’t any in the end. Anyway, the strangeness of Christianity is it’s a religion of purity of faith founded on infidelity. Mary had a child with someONE other than her husband Joseph. (Joseph is able to tolerate it only because an angel assured him that God done it. Otherwise, it would have been grounds for Mary getting stoned in public.) And Jesus and Disciples were Jews who betrayed the Jewish community.

Interesting in parts, rubbish in other parts. Some of what the says in interesting and some of it is true. I found particularly interesting the statement that Oil originates in the bowels of the earth, as that confirms what I read, many decades ago, of the research in Sweden, where a Prof. Gold drilled right through a very deeply buried granite slab, which had never been anywhere near the surface and got methane. His idea that coal is also a condensed form of methane is clearly wrong as coal has abundant fossils in it. (Unlike oil.)

I have been told: that the European Research centre on Lake Como, received NO information on how much fuel was used by the airlines and no info from the various militaries either! So, inevitably there is a lot of guesswork in the models.

Ironic, that a Professor of Geopolitics should lambast climate scientists for inaccuracy!
