The Siege of Jerusalem stands out as one of the most brutal examples of Classical Era total war since the fall of Carthage over 200 years earlier! Continue reading “Invicta Video: The Siege of Jerusalem (70 AD) – NOW COMPLETE”

Everett I. Carver: The Rapture, from an Amillennial / Postmillennial Perspective
In spite of the fact that most Dispensationalists admit that Luke 21:20 refers to the destruction of Jerusalem in A.D. 70, they also contend that Luke 21:36 refers to the great tribulation and that this indicates that the Church will escape that time of persecution. But it has previously been shown that verse 36 refers to escaping the trials of the siege of Jerusalem, rather than some future tribulation. It is a fact of history that the Church did escape the privations and tyranny of that disaster. Continue reading “Everett I. Carver: The Rapture, from an Amillennial / Postmillennial Perspective”
45 Evidences Supporting the Pre-Tribulation Rapture View (2001)
There are many theories – Pre-Tribulation, Mid-Tribulation, Post-Tribulation, Partial Rapture, and Pre-Wrath Raptures of the Church. There are probably many more which stem from these theories but these five are the basic views. I hold the Pre-Tribulation Rapture view and I do so without reservation. Before I defend my convictions, let us define and examine all five views concisely. Continue reading “45 Evidences Supporting the Pre-Tribulation Rapture View (2001)”
Romans 11:26 Study Archive: “All Israel will be Saved”
The Israel of God is what he calls the Church, gathered alike from Jews and Gentiles; and he sets the people, thus collected from their dispersion, in opposition to the carnal children of Abraham, who had departed from his faith. – Calvin Continue reading “Romans 11:26 Study Archive: “All Israel will be Saved””
William Hendriksen: What is Meant by “Israel” in the Bible? (1974)
The symbolism of Ezekiel’s healing waters (Ezek. 47; cf. lsa. 44:3; Zech. 14:8) is fulfilled on the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit is poured out (John 7:37-39). Continue reading “William Hendriksen: What is Meant by “Israel” in the Bible? (1974)”
Ed Stevens: Response To Gentry’s Analysis of the Full Preterist View (1997)
Why spill so much blood and ink if it was all infallibly set in stone from the creedal era? Why not just take what the early church has given us (sacerdotalism, Maryolatry and all) and just stick with it? Have Gentry’s books made any improvement upon the early church’s understanding of eschatology? Or is he just regurgitating what the historic church “always and everywhere” believed? Why bother writing any more books if there is no possibility of improving our understanding? Continue reading “Ed Stevens: Response To Gentry’s Analysis of the Full Preterist View (1997)”
Andrew S. Kulikovsky: The Relevance of Archaeology to the Study of Scripture (1994)
Excavations at Megiddo have uncovered what appears to be some very large stables. These stables seem to be capable of holding up to 450 chariot horses. It appears that Megiddo was one of Solomon’s chariot cities (1 Kings 10:26) Continue reading “Andrew S. Kulikovsky: The Relevance of Archaeology to the Study of Scripture (1994)”
Gary DeMar: Early Documents in the Debate over Preterism: James the Just and 1 Clement
The strongest argument for an early AD 70 date is that Clement states that temple sacrifices were being offered in Jerusalem at the time of its writing. This means the temple, which was destroyed in late AD 70, was still standing when Clement wrote his letter Continue reading “Gary DeMar: Early Documents in the Debate over Preterism: James the Just and 1 Clement”
TK Burk: Jesus is Not a Failed Messiah: Six Proofs from Daniel 9:24 (2019)
The key question is: are these six points of Daniel 9:24 are already fulfilled, or are they yet to be fulfilled sometime in the future? The only trusted source to answer this question is the Bible itself. From its pages, we find all six of these points were already fulfilled in detail by Jesus Christ. Bill Wepfer, The Pleasures and Perils of Century Living: The Curious Story of Is 65:20 (2019)
Unfortunately for Dispensational views, elevating the unbelieving Israelites to a position of political power during the Millennium, replete with Moses reinstituted and all the bloody Temple gore, is little different from the Zionism discounted by Jesus and His Apostolic band during the first century. Phillip Adams: Leaders Embrace Born-Again Bunkum (2005)
Visiting the US I once heard Reagan on a fundamentalist radio show chatting happily about the grim prognostications in the Book of Revelation, the arrival of the Antichrist and the imminent second coming and you couldn’t help but wonder if he was the right man to have his finger on the button. For once Alzheimer’s was a good thing for, by his second term, he seemed to have forgotten all about it. Continue reading “Phillip Adams: Leaders Embrace Born-Again Bunkum (2005)”

Charles Meek: Where Hal Lindsey Went Wrong (2019)
Dispensationalism was born in 1830 with John Nelson Darby. It died in 1988 when their prophecies failed to materialize in “that generation.” Rest in peace. Continue reading “Charles Meek: Where Hal Lindsey Went Wrong (2019)”
Jarrod Drawbaugh: Reflections of a Former Full Preterist, Part 12 – Three Things That Led me Out of Full Preterism (2019)
Those moments quickly faded as I came face to face with sin, both in the world and in myself. My view was causing me to stare at something directly in the eyes while simultaneously denying its existence.
Martin Luther: The Fifteenth Chapter of St. Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians (1534)
by calling Christ “the Firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep” Paul wishes to signify that the resurrection is to be viewed and understood as having already begun in Christ Continue reading “Martin Luther: The Fifteenth Chapter of St. Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians (1534)”

Alan Kurschner: Apantēsis (Meeting) Does Not Mean ‘an Immediate Escort’ Back to Earth: A Response to Posttribulationism (2019)
rather than reading the posttrib concept of an “immediate escort to earth” back into the meaning of apantēsis, it is better to take three explicit biblical passages that depict the people of God being escorted to heaven—not earth—when Jesus returns.
