Sun, sea, and fabulous family attractions; it’s no wonder that Tenerife holidays are still right at the top of favourite hot spots for couples, families, and groups. It’s the largest and most developed of the Canary Islands, but head inland and you’ll still find traditional Canarian life carrying on as it has for centuries. Tenerife is an island of two halves, with Spain’s highest mountain sitting right in between the lush, tropical north and the rocky south. Mix in beautiful beaches, water sports galore, and plenty of family adventures at the parks, and the cliffs of Los Gigantes, and Tenerife holidays tick everyone’s perfect holiday boxes.

Take an unforgettable drive up the steep, winding road through the Masca Gorge, one of the most extraordinary places in Tenerife. At the top you get some knockout views of Mount Teide on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other. Follow in the wake of mythical giants on a boat trip to Los Gigantes, high cliffs that loom over the Atlantic on Tenerife’s north-western coast.
Playa De Las Americas is party central, and is one of the buzziest places in Tenerife. Dozens of bars offering everything from cabaret to karaoke are clustered around three main areas: the Patch, Veronicas, and Starco Centre. Fancy some glamorous cocktails for a sophisticated evening out? Put your best tux on and head to Costa Adeje’s unique Faro Chill Art. This unusual ship-shaped club sits between Puerto Colón and Playa de Fañabé, and its terrace is one of the most elegant places for a sundowner. Puerto de la Cruz hits the spot if you want more Latin and salsa sounds.
Tenerife’s jewel in its crown are the beaches that have attracted tourists for over 100 years. Golden sandy beaches run all along the south-western coast from Playa De Las Americas to Costa Adeje. Thanks to some unique African winds, the island is a magnet for windsurfing and kiteboarding, especially along the south coast’s El Médano beach. If you want something more private then there are plenty of hidden coves like El Bollullo on the north coast, where the Atlantic’s waves crash onto distinctive black volcanic sand.

With an average temperature of 22°C throughout the year, it's no wonder Tenerife has been nicknamed the ‘Island of Eternal Spring’. Even the off-season months are pleasantly warm, making it a great destination for couples looking for a quiet autumn break. Up to nine hours of sunshine and highs of 28°C make summer a great time to hit the beach, but the weather is still warm enough during the other seasons to enjoy a swim in the sea.
