Travis Scott: Look Mom I Can Fly

Following in the footsteps of Beyoncé, rapper Travis Scott is releasing a Netflix documentary titled Look Mom I Can Fly, and you can watch the trailer for it right now.

The two-minute extended trailer features footage from Scott’s live performances, from sparsely attended parking lot concerts in 2014 to sold-out stadiums today. Fans also got a glimpse of some of Scott’s home videos, which revealed his affinity for music at an early age. One particularly sweet video shows a young Scott, looking no older than 5 years old, tentatively banging on a drumset with his father. In a press release accompanying the trailer, Netflix described Look Mom I Can Fly as following the “months surrounding the release of his Grammy-nominated album Astroworld” and “Travis’s life-changing moments, including becoming a father, performing at the Super Bowl and recreating Astroworld for his hometown and fans.”

The rapper, who is best known for his No. 1 single “Sicko Mode” from his 2018 album Astroworld, announced the Netflix documentary on Thursday night via an Instagram post which featured VHS tapes titled Travis Scott: Look Mom I Can Fly (whether or not those VHS tapes actually work is another story). In the caption, Scott instructed fans to meet him at the Movie Exchange in Houston, Texas (his hometown), where they were met with a Netflix press event and a special preview: A 60-second version of the above trailer.

In addition to his rise to fame, it looks like the documentary will also feature Scott’s highly publicized relationship with reality star Kylie Jenner, who can be seen briefly in footage in the trailer, along with their daughter, Stormi.

Scott might not be quite the superstar that Beyoncé is, but the popstar’s Netflix documentary, Homecoming, was a big success for the platform earlier this year. It makes sense that the streaming service would be eager to replicate the success.

Travis Scott: Look Mom I Can Fly will premiere on Netflix next week, on August 28.
