Shanghai (Gasgoo)- BAIC Group announced on December 26 that the hourly car rental business operated by its new energy car-sharing platform QingXiang Technology has been formally integrated into MOREFUN, a car sharing platform of BAIC Mobility.

Founded in April 2017, BAIC Mobility is designed to promote BAIC Group’s transformation from a traditional automaker to a mobility service solution provider. Working on providing mobility and related value-added services, it is ambitious to build a comprehensive mobility ecosystem that embraces such services as hourly car rental, ride-hailing, urban house-based logistics, tourism exhibition and health care, etc.

BAIC Group possesses several mobility service brands like BJ. TRAVEL, BAIC Mobility, GreenGo and QingXiang. All of them were initially built for some specific purpose. For instant, BJ. TRAVEL was founded to reform governmental mobility service system and QingXiang was launched to cultivate users’ acceptance over new energy vehicles (NEVs) and unlock the sales channels of NEV market.

However, the brand variety makes the resource distribution inconvenient for BAIC Group. It is reported that its hourly car rental service businesses will be entirely managed by BAIC Mobility in the future and QingXiang Technology will focus on technology upgrade. Moreover, BAIC Mobility plans to build its self-owned ride-hailing platform and make layouts in logistics, business travel, convention and exhibition as well as medical and health service areas.
