The new musical The Prince of Egypt, based on the 1998 DreamWorks animated film of the same name, will play London’s West End next year. Performances will begin at the Dominion Theatre February 5, 2020, with an official opening set for February 25.

The musical features several of the songs Stephen Schwartz penned for the movie (including the Oscar-winning “When You Believe”), as well as new numbers that the Wicked and Pippin composer wrote specifically for the stage. Writing the book is original screenwriter Philip LaZebnik.

Scott Schwartz (Stephen Schwartz's son) will direct the London staging, having previously helmed the show's 2017 world premiere at TheatreWorks Silicon Valley in a co-production with Fredericia Teater Denmark. Sean Cheesman also returns as choreographer.
