Area Description:

The Bay of Islands and inshore waters from Cape Brett to the Poor Knights Islands to Bream Head.

Situation:

An stationary front is situated over the upper North Island, while a ridge builds over the South Island. A broad low pressure system in the Tasman Sea approaches the country in the next few days, crossing the upper North Island during Tuesday and early Wednesday, followed by another ridge. Meanwhile a front moves across the lower South Island late Tuesday and during Wednesday,strengthening the westerly flow there. On Thursday, the ridge remains over the North Island while another front approaches the lower South Island from the west.
