The completion of the Union Station Transit Center on May 9, 2014 has brought multiple elements of transit under one roof in the heart of downtown Denver. A true multi-modal hub, you can hop on one of many RTD services to get where you’re going.

The rail station at Union Station was relocated in 2012 as the first part of the transit transformation happening downtown. The rail station on Chestnut Street provides the end-of-line station for the C, E and W lines.

Union Station bus concourse

The Union Station bus concourse is a brand new 22-gate underground bus facility that serves 16 distinct bus routes, including the new Free MetroRide. Located at 1700 Wewatta Street in Denver, the new transit hub provides easy access to all transit options downtown.

Free MallRide bus

The Free MallRide has been giving free rides up and down the 16th Street Mall since 1982, and carries more than 13 million passengers a year. The Free MallRide provides easy access to Union Station and the underground bus concourse.

The Free MetroRide is the perfect option for downtown commuters, providing quick and easy trips between Civic Center and Union Station during peak rush hours. The new service has uniquely branded buses that are easy to identify on 18th and 19th streets.

University of Colorado A Line Now Open

Connecting Denver to DIA

DIA is getting closer every day. This 22.8-mile commuter rail corridor operates between Union Station and Denver International Airport.

G Line Now Open

Connecting Denver, Arvada, and Wheat Ridge

This 11.2-mile electric commuter rail line will connect Union Station to Wheat Ridge, passing through northwest Denver, Adams County and Arvada.

B

B Line Now Open

Connecting Denver and Westminster

The first 6.2-mile segment of the B Line from Union Station to Westminster opened July 25, 2016. When completed, the entire B Line will be a 41-mile commuter rail project from Union Station to Longmont, passing through North Denver, Adams County, Westminster, Broomfield, Louisville and Boulder.

Connecting Denver, Commerce City, Thornton, and Northglenn

Running from Union Station through Commerce City, Thornton, Northglenn and Adams County, this 13-mile commuter rail line will provide new transportation options to riders in the north region.

Making connections at Union Station

With service from Denver International Airport into the heart of Downtown Denver at Union Station, the University of Colorado A Line is opening up connections all across the Denver-metro area. Union Station is a multi-modal transit hub offering light rail, commuter rail, Greyhound, and Amtrak, as well as local and regional bus routes serving destinations across the region.

Relocated in 2012 as a part of the Union Station master development plan, the C, E, and W rail lines use Union Station as the end-of-line station.

Bus Concourse

Now open, the bright, bold, and spacious, 22-gate underground Union Station Bus Concourse offers a comfortable, convenient experience for commuters and visitors alike.

The bus concourse serves 18 bus routes, including the new Free MetroRide and Free MallRide and three commercial routes. As a result, Market Street Station closed on May 11, 2014 and all service formerly running through Market Street Station moved to the new Union Station Bus Concourse.

17th Street Promenade

The 17th Street Promenade is more than 30,000 square feet of shady, garden style public space. There’s more than 20 benches and 30 different types of drought resistant plants that help create an oasis in the middle of Union Station.

Located at 17th and Wewatta, this entry point into the underground bus concourse has stairs, escalators, and an elevator.

The Train Hall is home to our commuter rail lines. As part of the FasTracks program, commuter rail lines expand the RTD rail system north, east, and west, offering you more connections than ever before.

The Crawford Hotel

The historic Union Station building is being transformed into the Crawford Hotel, a 112-room independent hotel that will fill the upper levels. The Crawford Hotel, named after Union Station partner Dana Crawford, is managed by Denver’s Sage Hospitality.
