Enyimba return to Aba Stadium after completed renovations

The People Elephants are back in Aba after three years in exile ahead of their upcoming Caf Confederation Cup match later this month

Enyimba on Friday returned to the Aba International Stadium, where they will host CARA Brazzaville clash in the final Caf Confederation Cup group C clash later this month.

The People's Elephant who are third on the log with six points will be hoping to keep their knockout phase hopes alive against Djoliba in Bamako on August 19 before CARA tie ten days later.

Before now, the People's Elephants had adopted Port Harcourt and Calabar as their home grounds since leaving their 16,000-capacity seater fortress due to it renovations which began three years ago.

With the renovations completed, Usman Abdullah’s men on Friday had their first training session on the newly refurbished Aba Stadium pitch on Friday morning following their return.

And club’s media manager Farriel Allaputa confirmed that the two-time Caf Champions League winners’ home return and looking forward to their tie with the Congolese on August 29.

“We’re back in Aba and it is an exciting moment for everyone at the club to be finally home,”  Allaputa told Goal.

“We had our first training this [Friday] morning at the new stadium and the team is getting prepared for the last Caf Confederation Cup game against CARA at home later this month.

“Before then, the team is already training hard to get a good result in Bamako against Djoliba to ease our qualification to the next round. Once again, everyone is happy about our home return.”
