The Voice UK has lost one judge and gained another.

ITV confirmed on Friday (September 27) an all-new coaching panel for 2020 because Jennifer Hudson has had to retire from her red spinning chair.

The new panel will include veteran coaches will.i.am, Sir Tom Jones and 2019 winner Olly Murs all returning with newbie Meghan Trainor, the Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter behind 'All About That Bass' and 'No'.

Also returning for the next series is Emma Willis as presenter when filming commences in October.

"I can't wait for the next series of The Voice, especially to hear all of the incredible talent that will no doubt be walking onto that stage," Emma said.

"I absolutely adore Jennifer and will massively miss her. However, Meghan is a fab choice to add to the coaching line up and it's always exciting when a new coach arrives on the show."

Original coach will.i.am also had a message for potential contestants: "UK soloists, duos and trios – I am looking for you! This season I am seeking fresh sounds and unique voices that I want to work with and will compel me to push that button!”

Jennifer Hudson announced on Twitter on Thursday night (September 26) that she'd be leaving The Voice UK because of a busy schedule.

"Hey y'all! I’m sad to share that I won’t be able to join my friends in the red chair for @thevoiceuk this season due to filming commitments here in the States," she wrote. "I sure will miss my UK family, but I'll be back soon for 'Cats' and 'Respect'! Throw some shoes for me in the mean time."
