I'm aware, but it's a complex problem to solve, believe it or not. Assuming people aren't deliberately trying to game it, I could probably hack something together.

Gawd I'm such a bum, I haven't hardly worked on the site in forever.

Could you do something like
    hash_hmac('sha256', "$post_timestamp $post_ip $roll_counter", $secret_dice_seed)

for generating the random numbers, where
$roll_counter
is 1 for the first roll in the post, 2 for the second roll in the post, etc.?

So a word I see being used a lot on the board as of late is "cringe". I feel like the staff needs to keep an eye on this trend.

What makes one person "cringe" may be completely innocuous to another person and vice-versa. So not only is the very idea too nebulous to even define, it serves as a danger to alienate some people. How would it make someone feel to seeing a hobby or activity they enjoy being mocked by other posters as being socially inept and/or embarrassing? Or at the very least deserving of mockery. Even if it is not directed specifically at you, it still does not foster a welcoming or friendly environment. Cringe culture as a whole really serve no other purpose than to mock and shame certain type of person or behavior, and that's not really something the rules should allowed. Perhaps things have not gotten to that level yet, but I feel like it's a potential danger we should acknowledge.

I know this is a bit of a longshot but there's a guy that goes by "飛翔 ルーラー !TdLGxo1/9U", is he from here?  I had to kind of guess a bit but he's from a forum called ponyville and this place fits the bill.  He says that he's going through a mod appeal by using other sites and proving he knows how to behave with other folks.

The problem is, he doesn't.  He's being intentionally disruptive to conversations, frequently off topic for no reason, and goes out of his way to be obnoxious: at one point just spamming the thread with "Fuck you" over and over again and linking to old anti-bullying PSA videos instead of contributing to the conversation.  I think he was actually banned yesterday and has been ban evading since then.

Some highlights for your consideration:

On the contrary.  Steam Twist contacted Moony personally and he has asked to be allowed back on the site.  The OP is providing evidence relevant to that decision.

Saying "most Americans are evil" or "most blacks are criminals" is certainly prejudice.

Whats the maximum .gif size limit?

I found some i really want to use that are like 14meg but wont post (gets timeout error even from good comnection at work) and it looks like i was just able to post a 7 meg one (barely).  Is the limit 10 or something?

Can we increase it a little bit?  Any ideas on maybe a site that might squash them a little for me to get under the size limit? Etc,

Thanks.

Edit:  found a free compressor:

I think this thread has mostly run its course.  I just have a couple more thoughts.

>>2774
>Unless you want accusations of being an 'ebil nazi', you're going to have to clarify your position against people like Richard Spencer prior to defending them.
The way to do that here is to criticize his actions and ideology, not him as a person.  It is a fine distinction but an important one.

>>2774
>And I'd want to vocalize that, lest we get people like Butt accusing us of being "Manley apologists".
A rule-abiding way to do that is to exactly disclaim such implications.  E.g., saying something like "I think the warning on post P is unjust because [reasons].  (For clarification, this thread is concerned *only* with post P.  I express no opinion in this thread about whenever any other of M's posts are ban-worthy.  Discussion of M's other posts is off-topic except insofar as they are relevant to whether post P deserved a warning.)"  This is unfortunately longer, but that sometimes is the price to pay.

So currently mods give warnings/bans to extra-bad posts. I just had a thought that maybe extra-good posts could earn a gold star or something.  Now this is a rather half-baked idea of mine, and probaby it is a bad idea for reasons that will become apparent upon closer examination.  But I just wanted to jot it down before I fall asleep and forget it.

So, if I'm going to be under this so-called "political ban" for how ever many months remain, I'm going to need one of you to specify what is and isn't "political". Because every day I am running the risk of violating the rules by not knowing. Does it only involve things related to the government? If so, which countries government? Since I don't live in Canada, could I discuss Canada's government? Or does it include other topics, and if so, which? For example, I would like to discuss the idea of "censorship" on the internet right now, but I don't know where it falls in these nebulous rules. Help a brother out, what is and isn't allowed?

Sorry about that, I should've posted alongside it.

This was their ban message if it helps any though:

"You were warned earlier about infractions to rules 7 and 8.  You then posted "I wasn't planning on deleting my thread tho. I wanted to keep it around because I love being provocative. In all senses." afterwards.  You then posted a thread to try and continue being mean to people, ironically or not that's against the rules.  You are now being banned for 4 hours due to breaking 5, 7, and 8.  We ask that you please stop breaking the rules and be nicer to others. Thank you. -!!Rainbow Dash"

Gonna be bluntly honest: I think my ban was stupid.
I should have been warned/banned for the first thread I made. THe second thread was just a dumb meme bandwagon, that was all made in comedy.

The first one I got a warning on WAS pretty rude tho, and I would have accepted nothing less than a ban from that one.

Echoing
Iara
's feature request: Option to downsize thumbnails of non-OP images.  I don't think this can easily be implemented client-side with just CSS, but JavaScript+CSS can probably get the job done.  Or it could be done server-side.  I could also take a stab at doing this if you give me read-only access to the source code and let me submit a pull request or something.

Pic unrelated.

Hello! You probably know me as Dizzy, and I was a Moderator/Co-Admin on this site for some time. Well, I'm back, but there is some clarity that needs to be clarified before we resume as normal.

I'm not just "Dizzy". I never have been. I suffer from multiple personalities, and treat each personality as though they are a dear sister. Not a single one of us is in charge, and we all carry our own beliefs, convictions, and ideals. We are siblings, but in one mind, as we tell ourselves.

This means the position of Luna will be occupied by one body, which is composed of 7 people and 7 names. We will all do our best to take responsibility for our sisters' actions and maintain transparency.

All 7 of us, separately, are known as Dizzy, Abby, Peppermint, Savvy, Braze, Chroma, and Grace. Our job, like before, is to communicate with the users and determine how they feel about the site and its atmosphere/policies. We expect to see you around the site, and hope you have a good time<3
