Prior to his appointment to judicial office, Advocate General Hogan was simultaneously both an academic and practitioner. He was Senior Counsel (S.C.) at the Bar (1997-2010) and Junior Counsel (1987-97), whilst also a Lecturer in Law at Trinity College Dublin. He holds a number of academic degrees from University College Dublin, the University of Pennsylvania, the Honorable Society of King’s Inns, and Trinity College Dublin. Moreover, Advocate General Hogan was written numerous articles and contributions on EU law.
