What is "homogenized" milk?

Homogenization is the process of breaking down the fat molecules in milk so that they stay integrated rather than separating as cream. Homogenization is a purely physical process; nothing is added to the milk. Organic Valley offers homogenized Grassmilk milk to meet consumer demand for a non-cream-on-top, 100% grass-fed milk.

The majority of milk sold in the US is homogenized. The process is so prevalent and expected by consumers, that the federal classification of milk is "homogenized." The law does not require us to label our milk "homogenized".  Except for Organic Valley Grassmilk, Grassmilk Yogurt and Heavy Whipping Cream, all other Organic Valley fluid milk products are homogenized.
