Zerouali leaves Aberdeen for Al Nasr

Morocco international striker Hicham Zerouali has signed for Emirati club Al Nasr on a free transfer after his contract with Scottish Premier League club Aberdeen ran out.

The striker, who scored 13 goals in 48 appearances in Scotland, was one of the players the club was forced to let go due to financial difficulties.

He has signed a one-year contract with his new club, who were delighted to have secured the deal.

"He is an excellent striker," Sultan Hareb, Al Nasr's general secretary, told local media.

"We watched videotapes of him playing for Aberdeen and the Moroccan national team. At 24 he is still very young and will give his best for Al Nasr."

Hareb added that he felt Zerouali would find the move very beneficial.

"It's a good financial deal for him and for us," he said.

"Hisham arrived in Dubai on Monday night and went through a medical test before signing."

Zerouali becomes the second African in 24 hours to head for the UAE, following the transfer of Moussa Saib from Lorient to Dubai.
