On Loan

Bristol City loan for Palmer

Kasey Palmer has returned from Blackburn Rovers and joined Bristol City on loan for the rest of the season.

The 22-year-old heads to Ashton Gate having spent the first part of the campaign at fellow Championship side Blackburn, where he scored three goals in 17 appearances.

An attacking midfielder, Palmer won both the FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League with the Chelsea Academy.

He becomes the third Chelsea loanee to join Bristol City this campaign, following Tomas Kalas and Jay Dasilva. The West Country side are currently 11th in the Championship table.

Palmer has also been on loan at Huddersfield Town and Derby County.

In July 2016, he joined Championship club Huddersfield Town on a season-long loan and featured regularly for David Wagner's side as they challenged towards the top of the table before he picked up an injury which kept him sidelined for a lengthy period. He returned just in time to play a part in Huddersfield's play-off triumph at Wembley, replacing Chelsea colleague Izzy Brown in extra-time.

In July 2017 it was announced Palmer had signed a new contract at Chelsea committing him to the club until 2021, and he would be returning to Huddersfield on loan.

The loan ended in January 2018 when he joined Championship side Derby County on loan until the end of the season. He played 16 times for the Rams, scoring twice, as they reached the Championship play-off semi-finals.

Academy striker Ike Ugbo has completed his loan spell at Scunthorpe United where he played 16 times and scored once.
