About the Author
Joe Santoro is a successful entrepreneur, a philanthropist, and a man devoted to his family and his fellow Americans. He sometimes refers to himself as the proud owner of a PhD in Life. Over the years, he has used his business success to start two foundations. The Santoro Educational Lifeskills Foundation (SELF) focuses on helping people become the best they can be. All Children First Foundation is focused on Early Learning. Over his career, Joe expanded his commercial maintenance business to include commercial real estate development, building construction, and leasing and managing millions of square feet of prime office space. Joe, along with the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce, also started an education program for building a bridge between business and education, and has worked with schools to help students get a better understanding of the business environment. His first book, Win the Biggest Game: LIFE, sets the blueprint for how he’s approached life and his hope that all kids and their parents are happy with themselves. It offers a path to help all children and their parents become the best they can be.

The book covers 36 lessons around the themes of Knowing Me, Managing Me, Understanding Me and Relating to Others. The lessons are short and thought provoking. They are great conversations starters with any teen, AND when you buy the book you gain access to a 36 short (2 -3 minute) videos that enhance each lesson. (You have to look for the logon information: it's buried on page 195.) I generally just show my student the video and use the book to guide our conversation after watching it. The videos are well done, and we have had some deep conversations as a result.
I want to shout the benefits of this wonderful book to the world. I have been a teacher. I have done graduate work in psychology. I have raised two sons. I even remember my own teenage angst. I wish I had found this book sooner.
I generally don't gush. I am skeptical of many programs I have seen in the schools to address the lessons taught in this book. Generally, I find them lame. The students parrot back the answers that are expected, but the lessons don't engage their mind and make them think. These programs change neither attitudes nor behaviors. I firmly believe this book and its videos could change a student's life for the better.
