Stars Acquire Rights to Isaiah Cousins and 33rd Overall 2017 NBA G League Draft Pick

The Salt Lake City Stars announced today that they have acquired the returning player rights to guard Isaiah Cousins, along with the 33rd overall pick in the 2017 NBA G League Draft, in exchange for the Stars’ first-round pick (second overall) in Saturday’s draft.

Cousins (6-4, 191, Oklahoma) was originally selected by the Sacramento Kings (59th overall) in the 2016 NBA Draft and appeared in 50 games (all starts) for the Reno Bighorns, the Kings’ G League affiliate, during the 2016-17 season and averaged 17.0 points, 4.0 assists and 5.7 rebounds in 35.0 minutes of action.

The 23-year-old played four seasons at University of Oklahoma (2012-16), where he averaged 9.7 points, 2.7 assists and 3.9 rebounds.
