I can't get VTFEdit to start now. I just get an error "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe for more detail". This happened for 1.3.2 and 1.3.3.

do you have the appropriate runtimes installed?

The computer tells me I already have .NET 4, and I installed the Visual C++ thing just in case, but no change.

I think its not the computer having trouble, its the vtf edit having trouble ever since 1.3.2 was out almost every one was having the same problem with it, so once again its vtf edit not our computers

thought I would make a post about this after 22 hours of trying to get this to work I made an idiot proof install list and kit ill proly post that later but heres the readme I made //////////////

last but not least on all of the installers ALL OF THEM
copy them onto desktop the right click each file
PROPERTIES
uncheck box block option(if u see it from kaspersky)
go to
Compatability tab
run as administrator and compatability for windows 7
click for all users
run as admin win 7 compatability
apply once
apply twice
install .net frameworks first
install C++ versions next
install dds_utilities
install gimp
install dogwaffle
install gcfscape185
install notepad ++
then vtf edit133.exe

and poof no side by side error
this was made for windows 7x64 bit
