Veteran farrier Chip Langston, 62, worked his magic with all the precision of a master craftsman as the 5-year-old Hanoverian (German breed) horse stood calmly near his stall at the boarding and riding complex west of Delray Beach.

Atlantic Dunes Park, 1605 S. Ocean Blvd. in Delray Beach has a spruced up and much cleaner look as the beneficiary of a Restoring the Gold Coast project. The undertaking was an initiative of The Institute for Regional Conservation, a nonprofit dedicated to the protection, restoration and long-term management of ecological biodiversity.

The Avron B. Fogelman Sports Memorabilia Collection, a permanent exhibit featuring artifacts ranging from the 13 original rules of basketball by James Naismith to an autographed football signed by the undefeated 1972 Miami Dolphins, opened to the public Feb. 18 at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton.

About 200 guests strolled the grounds of the Morikami Museum & Japanese Gardens to celebrate the museum’s first gala fundraising event in nearly a decade. “Moon Over Morikami” was hosted by the Morikami Museum with support from corporate and individual philanthropists from across South Florida.
