The women in the Boca West Country Club's ladies league don’t mind giving back to the community as they raised funds for breast cancer research in its annual Play for P.I.N.K. tournament.

Kids from the local Delray Beach community attended the Delray Beach Youth Tennis Foundation clinic at Pompey Park.

Race Director Chuck Kirsch was thrilled to see a record turnout come and support the 15th annual Run Through Central Park 5K Run & Fitness Walk presented by Runner’s Depot.

For the first time since the VCA Walk for the Animals benefiting the Humane Society of Broward County began 30 years ago, a national celebrity, Clinton Kelly, will be at this year’s event on March 7 at Huizenga Park in downtown Fort Lauderdale.

The 16th annual Spa Day Charity Event recently took place at The Oaks at Boca Raton as nearly 300 participants, volunteers and spa providers attended for an important cause. The Oaks at Boca Raton partnered with Touch A Heart Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to enriching the lives of less fortunate children in the South Florida tri-county area.

Beth Besner is passionate about finding new ways of treating children who have cancer through I Care I Cure Childhood Cancer Foundation, which she started with her husband Brad. Their devotion to the cause comes from a personal place: They lost their son, Ian, to leukemia 13 years ago.A 5K Run, festival and concert planned for Saturday, Feb. 29 at Nova Southeastern University in Davie will benefit the foundation’s efforts.

The Israel Tennis and Education Centers Foundation will host its 2nd annual Academy Weekend beginning Thursday, February 20th through Saturday, February 22nd on the grounds of the Delray Beach Open in Delray Beach.

Last year, the Fort Lauderdale Country Club had several charity golf tournaments on its 8-Hole, Par 72 South Course and helped to raise nearly $800,000 for nonprofit organizations in Broward County.

Over the next 18 months, philanthropists Phyllis and Al Thomas will match dollar-for-dollar contributions made to Women In Distress through a $250,000 “Vision for the Future” challenge grant. The foundation, which has been supporting the organization for the past decade, will now be considered a legacy donor at the $1 million level.
