Blazers' Damian Lillard records first career triple-double

To say the least, Damian Lillard is on a roll and making a strong case to be a reserve for the 2020 All-Star Game.

Lillard posted his first career triple-double in leading the Portland Trail Blazers to a 125-112 victory over the Houston Rockets on Wednesday night, with 36 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds. The offensive output included two long 3-pointers from near the Trail Blazers logo that helped deflate the Rockets.

It was the point guard's sixth consecutive game of 30 or more points, a franchise record. Lillard is the reigning Western Conference Player of the Week for a stretch that included a 61-point outburst vs. the Warriors on Jan. 20 and 50 points against the Pacers on Jan. 26.

The triple-double came in Lillard's 595th career game. In his eighth season, Lillard is averaging 29 points, 7.8 assists and 4.3 rebounds. Obviously, rebounds are the reason the 6-foot-2 guard, a consistent scorer, hasn't had more triple-doubles. His career rebounding average is 4.2.
