New Sta. Ana police chief named

THE Davao City Police Office (DCPO) announced on Monday they have assigned and installed the new station chief of the Sta. Ana Police Station.

Chief Inspector Hamlet Montejo Lerios, formerly assigned at Toril police, replaced Superintendent Royina Garma as the new Sta. Ana police chief.

The turnover ceremony, spearheaded by DCPO director Senior Superintedent Vicente D. Danao Jr., was held last Friday afternoon at the Sta. Ana Police Station.

Garma has already exceeded the two year mandatory term as the station commander of Sta. Ana police and is expected to undergo 'schooling' at the Davao Regional Training Center (RTC) on Officers Senior's Executive Course (OSEC) as part of the requirements for promotion in the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Lerios's post at the Toril police station is temporarily filled in by the officer-in-charge (OIC) Senior Inspector Aquino Serenio.

With his assignment, Lerios vowed to continue his fight against illegal drugs.

It can be recalled that it was Lerios who discovered that there are police personnel assigned at the Toril police station who served as protectors against drugs lords in the area. (KRP)
