On the heels of the introduction of USF's newest head basketball coach in Brian Gregory, Joey Knight from the Tampa Times has reported that forward Malik Fitts has requested his release and will transfer to another program.
Fitts (6'5 230) was one of the youngest and more active contributors to the USF basketball team this past season averaging 7.4 points per game and 4.6 rebounds per game.
Fits posted double figures 10 times for the Bulls in 2016 including a career high 29 points and 11 rebounds on the road against Memphis. Fitts joins Luis Santos, Geno Thorpe and Jamhal McMurray as players to leave the Bulls during the 2016-2017 Calendar year.
The Bulls are now left with 7 scholarship players on roster and there could be more coming for USF. Bulls247 will have more on this as the situation develops.
