The Human Services Committee was established in 1996 by the Mayor and City Council to:

  • Provide advice on the delivery of human services in the city;
  • Investigate emerging trends of human services needs in the city;
  • Identify unmet human service needs within the city.

Each member of the Human Services Committee is appointed by the Mayor and City Council.  Applicants must be a registered voter and resident of the City of Fairfax for at least one year prior to application for membership, and remain a city resident during tenure on the committee.  The committee is comprised of two at-large members and one representative of each of the regional boards and commissions listed in the drop down list below.

The committee meets the fourth Monday of the month in January, April, July and October at 7:00 p.m., at City Hall.  This committee is comprised of 12 members; terms coincide with term on regional board.
