BTS Shifts 2.6 Million Pre-Sale Copies of 'Map of the Soul: Persona'

South Korean BTS are set for another major hit with their upcoming album Map of the Soul: Persona. Set to be released in mid-April, the album has reportedly already sold over 2.6 million copies.

According to Big Hit Entertainment, the septet’s upcoming album is said to have achieved this feat within five days of going on-sale March 13 for pre-orders ahead of its release on April 12. The company cited Korean album distributor iRiver, which accounted for 2,685,030 copies sold, reports Yonhap.

Map of the Soul: Persona is set to surpass both of BTS’ Billboard 200 chart-topping albums released last year. According to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), last September’s Love Yourself: Answer sold 2.7 million units and May’s Love Yourself: Tear sold 2.3 million units, respectively. The IFPI Global Album Chart includes physical and digital album unit sales only.

BTS’ new album will precede their upcoming Love Yourself: Speak Yourself stadium tour, which will bring the group to multiple countries throughout Asia, Europe, and North and South Americas. They’ll premiere new songs from Map of the Soul: Persona on SNL on April 13.
