Biography

Up until 1948, Karl-Heinz Becker was in Russian captivity, having been captured in World War II. He was the brother-in-law of his teammates [Max Syring] and [Walter Schönrock], all three of whom married one of the three Zätzsch sisters. After the war he worked as a policeman and then for a German bank. In 1936 and 1937 he was German champion in the 4×1500 m relay. At the 1936 Berlin Olympics he was eliminated in the heats over 5,000 metres.
