Midwest City is Festival City!!

Throughout the year, the City of Midwest City hosts a variety of family-friendly events and festivities for residents and visitors to enjoy!

Activities include the patriotic Tribute to Liberty event each 4th of July, the popular Trick or Treat City at Halloween, sensory events, and holiday events including the Holiday Lights Spectacular - the largest animated light display in our area. Don't miss our spectacular Veteran's Day Parade on Veteran's Day!

Did you know that the City of Midwest City's day-to-day operations, like all other cities and towns in Oklahoma, are primarily funded by revenue from sales tax? That's because Oklahoma is the only state in the nation where cities depend almost entirely on sales tax for general operations.

This is why it is so important to shop in Midwest City. When you shop in other metro area cities, you are investing in their police and fire services, helping to repair their city streets, and maintaining their city parks. Shopping in other cities improves the quality of life in those cities, rather than here in our own community.

What You Can Do!
- Shop locally
- Shop with online retailers that collect and remit sales tax.
- When you make a purchase outside of Midwest City, sales tax is paid on the point of delivery. That means if you purchase furniture or appliances and have them delivered to your home in the MWC city limits, sales tax should be collected and remitted to the City of Midwest City. (You can check to verify that it is!)
