Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Anime's New Videos Reveal Theatrical Debut Before TV Airing

1st 5 episodes of anime to screen in theaters for 2 weeks starting on March 29

The official website for the television anime adaptation of Koyoharu Gotouge's Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga began streaming a new ad and a new trailer on Friday for the anime. The videos reveal that the first five episodes of the anime will screen in 11 theaters in Japan for two weeks starting on March 29. The theatrical version of the first five episodes is titled Kimetsu no Yaiba: Kyōdai no Kizuna (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba: The Bonds of Siblings).

The ad embedded below is region free and can be viewed worldwide.

The longer trailer video on the website is region locked and can only be viewed in Japan, but the official Twitter account for the anime has posted the video region free.

The website also revealed a new visual for the theatrical release.

The anime will premiere on television in April and will air on a total of 20 channels including Tokyo MX, Gunma TV, Tochigi TV, and BS11.

The show stars:

Haruo Sotozaki (Tales of Zestiria the X, Tales of Symphonia the Animation) is directing the anime at ufotable (Fate/Zero, Kara no Kyoukai, Katsugeki: Touken Ranbu). ufotable is also credited for the scripts. Akira Matsushima (Maria Watches Over Us, Tales of Zestiria the X) is the character designer, with Miyuki Satō, Yōko Kajiyama, and Mika Kikuchi serving as sub-character designers. Yuki Kajiura (Sword Art Online, Fate/Zero, Madoka Magica) and Gō Shiina (Tales of Zestiria the X, Juni Taisen: Zodiac War, God Eater) are composing the music. Hikaru Kondo is producing the series.

But that ephemeral warmth is shattered one day when Tanjiro finds his family slaughtered and the lone survivor, his sister Nezuko, turned into a demon. To his surprise, however, Nezuko still shows signs of human emotion and thought… Thus begins Tanjiro's request to fight demons and turn his sister human again.

The manga debuted in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in February 2016, and Shueisha published the manga's 14th volume on January 4.
