Voting Begins Today at PeoplesChoice.Com
The nominees for PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS 2011 were announced this morning at The London West Hollywood Hotel by Malin Akerman (“27 Dresses,” “Watchmen”), Michael Chiklis, (“No Ordinary Family”), Zachary Levi (“Chuck”), AnnaLynne McCord (“90210”), Jeff Probst (“Survivor”), Audrina Patridge (“The Hills”) along with host Queen Latifah and Executive Producer Mark Burnett. Prior to this morning's announcement, fans cast more than 35 million votes to pick new categories and determine the nominees for the annual awards show that celebrates fan favorites in movies, music and television.
Winners will be revealed during the live broadcast of PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS 2011 from the Nokia Theater, L.A. Live on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/delayed PT) on the CBS Television Network. Tickets to the awards show are now available for fans to purchase through Ticketmaster. Voting begins today at http://www.PeoplesChoice.com for all 44 categories and will end on Dec. 7, 2010, except for “Favorite New TV Drama” and “Favorite New TV Comedy” which will remain open for voting until night of show.
New to PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS 2011:
Mobile – This year's official mobile partner is Kyocera and the new ZIO ® (Z-EYE-O) Android™ handset. Fans can vote in all categories directly on Android-powered mobile devices with the new official People's Choice Awards application, created by Kyocera and the PCAs. The free app is available for download from Android Market.
Categories – In addition to the new fan voted categories, PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS 2011 will feature “Favorite Movie Star Under 25” presented by Moviefone, “Favorite Music Video” presented by VEVO, the exclusive music partner of the People's Choice Awards, and “Favorite Viral Video Star” presented by Wheat Thins. This year's show will also see the return of “Favorite Web Celeb” presented by MSN's Wonderwall.com.
Social Media – PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS 2011 is proud to be the first major awards show to enable voting simultaneously across all leading social media platforms. Fans can vote on Myspace, the official social networking partner of the People's Choice Awards, at http://www.myspace.com/peopleschoiceawards or visit http://www.PeoplesChoice.com to learn how to cast votes on Facebook and Twitter.
Retail – In celebration of a four year partnership with CVS/pharmacy as the official retail partner of the People's Choice Awards, consumers are now invited to cast their vote on http://www.peopleschoice.com/CVS for the beauty rewards they would most love to have.
Trophy – For the second consecutive year, Waterford Crystal, the official designer and manufacturer of the People's Choice Awards trophy, is offering fans a special opportunity to vote for their favorite custom-made award at http://www.peopleschoice.com/trophy2011. The selected trophy will be presented to the winner of a new category and revealed during the show.
The list of potential nominees for PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS 2011 were determined by national ratings averages, box-office grosses, music sales, input from our media partners and E-Score Celebrity. This process generated the top 12 candidates per category. Fans picked their favorites at http://www.PeoplesChoice.com to generate the final list of nominees for PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS 2011. Fans had the option to write in their favorites not included among the provided candidates. All new network shows currently on air are eligible in the categories of “Favorite New TV Drama” and “Favorite New TV Comedy;” the top 5 will be announced Dec. 8, 2011.

Burnett has produced the MTV Movie Awards along with Audrey Morrissey for four years. In 2010, Mark and Audrey teamed up again when they took on People's Choice for the first time. A veteran of MTV, she and her company "Live Animals" now produce specials and series domestically and internationally.
