Status of Women Canada

Status of Women Canada works to advance equality for women by focusing its efforts in three priority areas: increasing women's economic security and prosperity; encouraging women's leadership and democratic participation; and ending gender-based violence. Status of Women Canada also plays a leadership role in the government-wide implementation of Gender-based Analysis Plus (GBA+).

On December 13, 2018, Status of Women Canada became a federal department named Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE). As a result of this change, we are working on building a new website for the Department and will be archiving the Status of Women Canada’s website. All services and information pertaining to the agency will remain on this website for reference, research or record-keeping purposes. Once the new website is launched, the current website will not be altered or updated. Stay tuned for more information on the transition of our web presence.
