A total of 88,912 visitors arrived in Seychelles during the first quarter of 2020 of which 5,380 are transit visitors who arrived on cruise ships. This represents a decrease of 12% in visitor arrivals compared to the first quarter of 2019 (101,514).
In April 2020, the “All items” annual (year on year) inflation rate stood at 0.08% compared to 2.02% in April 2019. The core inflation index rose by 1.07% over the same period.
In quarter 4 of 2019 the Seychelles ‘year on year’ real GDP increased by 5.5% compared to quarter 4 of 2018. Comparing quarter 4 of 2019 to quarter 3 of 2019, the real GDP increased by 5.7%.

National Bureau of Statistics

The NBS was established in June 2010, under the new National Bureau of Statistics Act 2010 and operates as a semi-autonomous government agency responsible for collecting, compiling, analyzing and publishing statistical information. The Bureau is also responsible for coordinating, monitoring and supervising the National Statistical System.

The NBS replaces the National Statistics Bureau (NSB) which was setup in 2005.
