‘Double Decker’ announces its stars

Actors Hwang Jung-eum and Yook Sung-jae have been cast as the lead roles in the upcoming JTBC drama series “Double Decker Carriage,” an adaptation of a web comic series of the same named by illustrator Bae Hye-su.

The story is an omnibus series about a pocha, or an outdoor bar, which travels around three worlds. As it travels around the three worlds, readers learn about the life stories of the various customers.

The web comic was named runner-up at the 2017 Korea Manhwa Contents Awards for its high-quality story and popularity among fans.

Although the show’s stars have been finalized, the premiere date has not been set yet.

Hwang is known for playing a number of popular lead roles in romantic comedy drama series on MBC, such as “Kill Me Heal Me” (2015), “She Was Pretty” (2015) and “Lucky Romance” (2016). Yook, a member of the boy group BTOB, was praised for his acting skills in tvN’s 2016 hit series “Goblin.”
