Coral Tour Championship | Day Two HIGHLIGHTS | Trump vs Higgins

Trump Shades First Session

Judd Trump has secured a 5-3 advantage heading into the second session of his clash with John Higgins at the Coral Tour Championship in Milton Keynes.

Regardless of what happens in today’s match, the guaranteed £20,000 of prize money will see World Champion Trump surpass £1 million in earnings for the season.

Higgins is remarkably competing in the 124th ranking event quarter-final of his career, moving him above Stephen Hendry’s previous record of 123.

World number one Trump won an edgy first two frames this afternoon to move 2-0 ahead, before Higgins stole the third frame on the black. Trump won the fourth with a break of 60 and added another to move 4-1 ahead.

Runs of 68 and 48 saw four-time Crucible king Higgins claw two frames back, but Trump clinched a 43-minute concluding frame to the session to end 5-3 up.

They return at 7pm to play the best of 17 encounter to its conclusion.
