Tigers Take Up Option On Batty

26 June 2020
Hull City have taken up the option to extend Dan Batty’s contract, which will see the midfielder remain at the KCOM Stadium for at least another year.

The 22-year-old has featured 26 times for Grant McCann’s side in 2019/20, with his only goal coming against Swansea City on the opening day of the season.

In total, Batty has racked up 59 appearances for the Club in all competitions since progressing through the Academy ranks to make his senior debut away at Brentford on the final day of the 2017/18 campaign.

Speaking after seeing his time with the Tigers extended, Batty said: “I’m really glad to be staying. Obviously, I came through the Academy here and I feel as though I’ve progressed an awful lot since I first joined the Club at the age of 16.

“I’ve enjoyed playing first-team football over the past two seasons and I’ve got a fair few games in the Championship under my belt now.

“Going forward, I just want to continue to progress and play as many games as possible. We’ve got eight games remaining in the current campaign and my only focus is on helping the team to get the results we need.”
