Following statements made by former Comics Alliance EIC Laura Hudson regarding the behaviour of Brian Wood to her several years ago, Dark Horse has confirmed to Bleeding Cool that the upcoming Aliens: Colonial Marines: Rising Threat written by Wood scheduled for September will no longer be published and they will no longer be pursuing new comic book projects with Wood.
Dark Horse has published the majority of comic books written by Brian Wood in recent years, mostly concerning the Aliens franchise, but also a number of creator-owned titles such as Massive, Briggs' Land, Rebels and Sword Daughter. Wood also wrote the Robotech series for Titan Comics until Simon Furman took over the book, as well as had creator-owned titles such as Starve, and Black Road published through Image Comics.
What Dark Horse hasn't been able to clarify further is why the employment of Brain Wood is now an issue for the publisher today, when it wasn't an issue for Dark Horse several years ago when this was last in the headlines over accounts by artist Tess Fowler and others. But they have confirmed that they do not see a difference regarding the allegations made then and now.
