Armie Hammer will double your pleasure once more: In a nod to his role(s) in last year’s big-screen hit The Social Network, the 24-year-old actor has recorded a cameo for The Simpsons as rowing twins Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, EW has learned. In the episode, which is titled “The D’oh-cial Network” and slated to air on Fox early next year, “Lisa creates a social network site in Springfield and gives too much credit to everybody, so we thought of doing a joke involving the Winklevoss twins,” explains exec producer Al Jean. But instead of asking the Winklevi — who famously filed a lawsuit against Facebook creator (and 2010 Simpsons guest voice) Mark Zuckerberg — to poke fun at themselves, the producers decided to friend Hammer. “We were like, ‘Wait, he played them, that’s who people think they are, we should just get him,’ says Jean, deadpanning: “It’s not like they’re going to sue us.”

Jean also noted that the Simpsons folks enjoyed their time with Hammer: “He was great. And we met him the day after he found out he was the Lone Ranger, so that was even cooler.” While the episode’s Winklevoss wink is rather brief, we can tell you that it does involve the twins rowing in the Olympics against… Patty and Selma. In other Simpsons news, Jean and creator Matt Groening are among the producers who will appear at the show’s panel at Comic-Con on Saturday.
