HSBC Holdings plc, the parent company of the HSBC Group, announces that with immediate effect Noel Quinn will become Chief Executive of Global Commercial Banking (CMB).

Noel joined HSBC in 1987, and has led CMB in both Asia-Pacific (2011-2015) and the UK (2008-2011). Commercial Banking has been a core business of HSBC since the Group was founded 150 years ago. CMB is in a strong competitive position in our chosen markets with ample room to grow.

Noel succeeds Simon Cooper who has resigned as Chief Executive of Global Commercial Banking and a member of the Board of Directors of HSBC Bank Canada.
