You have probably seen our babies in our Rock ‘n Play Sleeper all over Instagram, Facebook and the blog. We’ve had this SAME rock-n-play since our first was born, and let me tell you, it is by far the BEST baby product we’ve ever purchased. I have been meaning to write this post for some time now because I’m a little obsessed with this thing. Everytime I hear of a friend or family member that becomes pregnant I tell them to go get one of these things. We have had the top of the line cribs, expensive co-sleepers and nap/day beds for babies – we have tried it all, but none of them have compared to this. We purchased the more expensive Arms Reach Co-sleeper when Lennon was born but got rid of it a few weeks later because he refused to sleep in it.
This same rock-n-play has lasted us through THREE babies. This is how our babies napped and slept at night. This is how I am able to take a shower in the mornings, give the girls a bath, take the kids outside, put on makeup, make dinner….the list goes on and on.
Our rock-n-play is old now but I have not had the heart to part ways with it and get a new one because of its sentimental value. I know I won’t need it forever, but I will cross that bridge when I get there.
My first-born napped in this thing until she was almost three years old. I have the photos to prove it.
Excuse the grainy iPhone 4 camera pictures.
And now our littlest one is enjoying sleeping in this same one.
I think when we purchased ours we paid about $65 or so, but it has been the best dang $65 we have ever spent on a baby product. Now they are under $50 on Amazon here >> Rock ‘n Play Sleeper.
If you are expecting, know someone who is expecting, has a baby that doesn’t sleep well, a baby with reflux issues or even a toddler who can’t fall asleep then you NEED this! Just trust me when I say that you won’t be disappointed. I am not sure if it’s the way the sleeper is elevated or what but it just works for them.

A link to this blogpost was included in a story in this morning’s New York Times about the dangers of this product. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/06/business/fisher-price-rock-n-play-recall.html?emc=edit_th_190408&nl=todaysheadlines&nlid=670005550408

Thanks for letting me know! We usually had them strapped in when they slept also and with no blankets, I wonder if that contributed to the deaths of these sweet babies. Ours was an older version from 2012, it also looks like maybe the newer ones have much more side padding versus the one we had with the mesh side. I wonder if they changed the design at some point….anywho, thanks for letting everyone know.

Perhaps you have seen yesterday’s news that now Fisher-Price has recalled this product and will offer full refunds. I don’t mean to be a busy-body, but perhaps you should delete this particular blogpost in light of recent events? Also, I agree that it appears that the users of this product who have suffered this horrific loss may have not used the strap that prevents the child from turning over. I cannot imagine their suffering. –Kind regards…
