Jamie Foxx to Star in Father-Daughter Sitcom ‘Dad Stop Embarrassing Me’ at Netflix
Series is inspired by Foxx’s own relationship with his daughter, who will serve as a producer

Jamie Foxx will star in a new Netflix sitcom, “Dad Stop Embarrassing Me,” which his based on his relationship with his own daughter, Corinne Foxx.
Both Foxxs will be producers on the series, which also stars David Alan Grier and Kyla-Drew, Porscha Coleman and Jonathan Kite. Bentley Kyle Evans will serve as showrunner with Ken Whittingham directing all the episodes. Corinne Foxx will produce the multi-cam series alongside Alex Avant.
The series marks Foxx’s return to scripted TV, where he got his start with “The Jamie Foxx Show” at The WB, which he co-created with Evans. That series ran for five seasons. Foxx broke out on TV with the sketch comedy series “In Living Color.” Since then, Foxx has enjoyed a successful film career. He most recently starred in Netflix’s film “Project Power” alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Dominique Fishback.
This is not the first time Foxx will work his daughter on TV. Corinne Foxx also serves as the DJ on the Jamie Foxx-hosted Fox series “Beat Shazam.” She also was Miss Golden Globe 2016, an honor that goes to the son or daughter of a notable actor each year.
In addition to Corinne, Foxx has another daughter, Anelise.
