Leicester 0-0 Wolves
Leicester striker Paul Dickov is challenged by Wolves defender Lee Naylor
Leicester and Wolves each earned a point from their relegation battle.

The game was a tense affair and the nerves produced a match of little quality, although there were chances.

Leicester striker Paul Dickov saw Lee Naylor clear a header off the line before Ian Walker superbly saved to deny Wolves forward Kenny Miller.

Steve Guppy's shot hit the Wolves post before the game got scrappy with Paul Jones' save from Les Ferdinand the highlight of the second half.

The match had got off to a cagey start and the atmosphere only grew more tense until the first real threat on goal after 32 minutes.

Guppy crossed a ball into the Wolves box and the ball fell to Dickov courtesy of a deflection from Dennis Irwin.

KEY MOMENTS

43 mins: Leicester's Guppy hits the post

Dickov looped a header on goal but defender Naylor came to Wolves' rescue and hooked a clearance off the line.

At the other end, keeper Walker, who has come under fire recently, answered his critics with a fine save to deny Miller.

The Scotland striker's header from a Mark Kennedy cross looked bound for the top corner only for Walker to pull off a one-handed save at full stretch to his left.

Dickov and Alex Rae were involved in an angry exchange before Guppy's shot hit the Wolves post with keeper Jones appealing for offside just before the interval.

The promise of the first-half failed to continue after the break.

The game deteriorated in quality with both teams looking more at not losing than earning what would have been a crucial three points.

Guppy did have another sight of goal but headed high from a Dickov cross while Jones saved well to keep out a Ferdinand effort.
