The Fokker 50 maritime patrol aircraft is jointly operated by the Republic of Singapore Air Force and the Republic of Singapore Navy. Its mission is to provide maritime air surveillance and to protect the seaward defence and sea lines of communication of Singapore. The F-50 is currently involved in the Eyes in the Sky joint maritime air surveillance of the Malacca Straits together with its counterparts from Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand.
