Travel search engine Rome2Rio has just received another AUD1.2m in funding  from the Commercialisation Australia (CA) program, which a couple of years ago gave the Melbourne company $385,000 to help commercialise its technology.

Rome2Rio says this latest grant with be used to expand its development team and content.

No question Rome2Rio got very lucky with this latest round of funding because CA no longer exists.

It was phased out by the Federal Government and its functions assumed by the newly formed Entrepreneurs’ Infrastructure Programme (EIP).

However, the Government decided to honour all grants approved at a CA board meeting in February.

Fortunately for Rome2Rio they were one of the chosen few.
